SAF Production Increase
TotalEnergies is doubling the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at its Grandpuits site, increasing the annual capacity to 285,000 tons. This expansion aligns with the EU's mandate for a 6% SAF share by 2030.
Biomethane Production
The Grandpuits site will also see the construction of a biomethane production unit with an annual capacity of 80 GWh, equivalent to the energy demand of 16,000 people. This unit will utilize organic waste from the biorefinery and is expected to prevent the emission of nearly 20,000 tons of CO2 annually.
Job Maintenance
Despite the discontinuation of the bioplastic production project with partner Corbion, TotalEnergies confirms the maintenance of 250 jobs at the Grandpuits site, adhering to commitments made in September 2020.
Biogas Leadership
TotalEnergies is a leading player in the European biogas market, with a production capacity of 1.1 TWh. The company aims to produce 20 TWh annually by 2030, meeting the average gas demand of four million French consumers and reducing CO2 emissions by around four million tons.
