Financial Performance

Topsoe reported a revenue of DKK 8,197 million for 2025, aligning with the higher end of their revised guidance. The EBIT margin was 8.9%, surpassing expectations due to an extraordinary income of DKK 118 million. Investments in technologies supporting both traditional and energy transition businesses slightly increased, with R&D spending at DKK 753 million, representing 9.2% of revenue.

Commercial Developments

The Catalyst business maintained revenue levels from 2024, with EMEA showing double-digit growth and India driving sales in Asia Pacific. However, the Americas faced challenges. The Technology business saw a 7.3% revenue decline due to market uncertainty affecting large-scale project investments, particularly in the Americas and Asia Pacific. Despite this, the synthetic fuel segment grew by 28%.

Strategic Initiatives

Topsoe inaugurated its Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC) manufacturing facility in Herning, Denmark, the largest in Europe. The company also signed agreements for e-fuel projects in Europe and the United States, which are pending final investment decisions.

Leadership Transition

Roeland Baan will step down as President and CEO on March 5, 2026, with Elena Scaltritti assuming the role. This transition follows a satisfactory 2025 performance and is part of a planned leadership change.

2026 Outlook

For 2026, Topsoe anticipates revenue between DKK 7,600-8,400 million and an EBIT margin of 0.0-5.0%. The forecast reflects ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, shifting trade policies, and raw material price volatility. The company will focus on cost discipline and production efficiency to maintain financial resilience.
