On May 26, 2025, a meeting was held in Astana to discuss updates to the Sectoral Qualifications Framework and Professional Standards in the oil and gas industry. The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy with support from KazMunayGas, Kazenergy Association, and Tengizchevroil (TCO).

Vice Minister of Energy, Alibek Zhamauov, highlighted the government's focus on developing professional skills and enhancing the prestige of working professions, particularly in the petroleum sector. This initiative is part of the Year of Working Professions, aimed at fostering professional growth and recognizing specialists' contributions to the national economy.

Action Plan

The 2025 action plan of the Industry Council includes updating professional standards to align with technological advancements and labor market changes. This effort underscores the strategic importance of skilled labor in Kazakhstan.

Investment in Workforce

TCO has invested over $107 million in enhancing the skills of local personnel in areas such as drilling, production, occupational health and safety, and reservoir development, building a strong team of qualified Kazakhstani professionals over the past 30 years.
