CEFI Joins IPA

The European Association of Chicory Inulin Producers (CEFI) has become a member of the International Probiotic Association (IPA). This collaboration aims to enhance the standards and recognition of prebiotics within the industry.

Expertise in Prebiotics

CEFI, known for its expertise in chicory root fibres, inulin, and oligofructose, will contribute its scientific and regulatory knowledge to support IPA's mission. This partnership will help promote the science and benefits of pre-, pro-, and postbiotics.

IPA's Expanded Focus

Since 1999, IPA has been a key player in the probiotics industry. In 2023, it broadened its strategic scope to include prebiotics, postbiotics, and synbiotics, adopting the International Scientific Association for Pro- and Prebiotics (ISAPP) definition of prebiotics to ensure consistency and innovation.

CEFI's Role and Representation

CEFI represents major chicory inulin producers, including BENEO, COSUCRA, and Sensus. As a European association, CEFI collaborates on regulatory topics related to health, nutrition, and sustainability, promoting the sustainable cultivation of chicory for high-quality root fibres.
