Thai FDA Approval

BENEO has received approval from the Thai FDA for an exclusive prebiotic claim for its chicory root fibre, Orafti® Inulin. This marks the first time an ingredient producer has achieved such recognition in Thailand, following a thorough scientific evaluation by the Center for Nutrition Assessment and Health Claims of Thailand (CNACT).

Consumer Interest in Digestive Health

The approval comes amid growing consumer interest in digestive health. A survey by FMCG Gurus indicates that digestive health is a top priority for Thai consumers, with many actively seeking to improve it. Awareness of prebiotics is high, with a significant portion of the population already incorporating them into their diets.

Scientific Evaluation

The CNACT's evaluation process involved human intervention studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses, underscoring the scientific rigor behind the prebiotic effect of Orafti® Inulin. Chicory root fibre, derived through a gentle hot water extraction method, is recognized internationally by the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP) as a prebiotic.

Upcoming Showcase

BENEO plans to showcase its prebiotic solutions at Fi Asia 2025, scheduled for September 17–19 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event will feature innovative applications of Orafti® Inulin, alongside other BENEO functional ingredients, demonstrating the potential for combining health benefits with consumer appeal.
