Contract Overview
Technip Energies has secured two significant contracts from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for projects at the Bina and Mumbai refineries in India. These contracts are valued between €250 million and €500 million.
Bina Refinery Project
The first contract involves Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) for new polypropylene and Butene-1 units at the Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh. The units will produce 550 kilotons per annum (KTPA) of polypropylene and 50 KTPA of Butene-1, which are essential for products like packaging materials, pipes, and automotive components. This project is part of BPCL’s broader Bina Petchem and Refinery Expansion Project.
Mumbai Refinery Project
The second contract covers Engineering, Procurement, and Construction management (EPsCm) services for a 3 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) Petro Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracker Unit (PRFCC) at the Mumbai Refinery in Maharashtra. This will be India’s first PRFCC unit, designed to convert heavy refinery residues into lighter, higher-value products. The project also includes auxiliary units and associated offsites and utilities.
Collaboration History
These contracts extend over two decades of collaboration between Technip Energies and BPCL. With a strong local presence in India, Technip Energies continues to contribute to the country's energy infrastructure through large-scale and complex projects.
