Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is an Indian state-owned oil and gas company under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Headquartered in Mumbai, it is one of India’s leading refiners and fuel marketers, with operations spanning refining, petroleum product supply and distribution, natural gas, and an expanding petrochemicals portfolio.
BPCL operates major refineries at Mumbai (Maharashtra) and Kochi (Kerala), and controls Bharat Oman Refineries Limited, which runs the Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh. The company produces transportation fuels, LPG, aviation turbine fuel, and lubricants, and has been developing petrochemical capacities, including propylene-based products and polypropylene. Its nationwide infrastructure includes pipelines, terminals, and a large retail network serving automotive, industrial, and household customers. BPCL also participates in upstream exploration and production through subsidiaries.
