CDP recognition
Symrise achieved CDP’s top “A” rating in the Supplier Engagement Assessment, signalling leadership in supplier engagement and Scope 3 transparency. The company says it combines procurement and sustainability to provide customers with robust, product‑level emissions data across the value chain.
Data and tools
To capture CO₂ data at product and company level Symrise developed a digital data platform with technology partner CO2 AI. The platform enables real‑time emissions analysis, makes reduction potential visible and was presented at the UN Climate Change Conference in November 2025.
Operational measures
Symrise runs Scope 3 programmes, traceability initiatives and cross‑functional efforts including a Low Carbon Transition Plan and the “Essence of Carbon” innovation programme. Through these actions it has identified propylene glycol as a strategic raw material that, when produced with green energy, can support lower‑carbon production processes.
Targets and supplier engagement
The company emphasises active supplier involvement, shared climate targets and transparent ESG data to support CO₂ reductions and resilient supply chains. By 2028 Symrise intends to present a concrete transformation plan for sustainable raw‑material use and is developing an agenda for traceability starting this year to deliver measurable reduction pathways.
