Siemens Energy wins supply contract for Petrobras FPSOs via SBM Offshore
- Siemens Energy will supply 16 modular systems (skids) — eight per FPSO — for Petrobras platforms P-81 and P-87 via SBM Offshore.
- Each FPSO package includes four gas turbine generators, three gas turbine-driven compressor trains for processing/export, and one electrically driven compressor for reservoir injection.

Contract and scope
Siemens Energy was selected by SBM Offshore to supply power generation and gas compression systems for Petrobras FPSOs P-81 and P-87 in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin. The company will deliver 16 main modular systems (skids), eight per platform, combining the required equipment for power generation and gas compression.
For each FPSO the package comprises four gas turbine generators for electricity, three gas turbine-driven compressor trains for gas processing and export, and one electrically driven compressor for gas injection into the reservoir.
Local execution and workforce
A majority of the equipment will be assembled at Siemens Energy’s industrial complex in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, Brazil, to meet local content requirements. The facility has supplied more than 150 skids for oil and gas projects since 2012. The project is expected to create approximately 400 direct and 500 indirect jobs.
Field capacity and schedule
The two FPSOs together will have capacity to produce up to 240,000 barrels of oil per day and process 22 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. Both vessels will tie into a dedicated gas export pipeline to deliver offshore-produced gas to onshore facilities, enabling domestic market supply and reducing flaring and reinjection.
The first solution package will be delivered to SBM Offshore by the end of 2027, with final deliveries scheduled through 2028; production is expected to start in 2030 and gas exports in 2031.
