K+S is expanding a combined heat and power (CHP) facility near its Bethune mine to include three natural gas turbines and heat recovery steam generators. The cogeneration facility will provide power and steam for the company’s mining operation and electricity for SaskPower.

Site

The Bethune solution potash mine is located about 31 kilometres northeast of Moose Jaw, where K+S extracts potash crude salt that is processed into two types of potassium chloride.
