K+S Potash Canada awards Worley and Graham major Ramp‑Up construction scopes

K+S Potash Canada selected Worley and Graham Construction as preferred construction partners for some of the first major scopes in its Ramp‑Up Program at the Bethune site.

Project scope

The Ramp‑Up Program targets nearly doubling current potash production to 4 million tonnes per year through a series of projects and supporting site infrastructure. Worley will supply and install structural steel and deliver mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation (MPEI) scopes for the Compaction facility expansion, identified as the largest individual project in the program. Graham was awarded civil earthworks, concrete and MPEI scopes for a Cooling Pond Pumphouse to support increased secondary mining capacity, and is also executing Compaction concrete and piling scopes that began earlier this month.

Selection criteria and Indigenous inclusion

Both companies were chosen through a competitive early contractor involvement process that evaluated safety performance, technical capability and commitments to Indigenous inclusion. K+S said it will work with local Indigenous communities to co‑develop strategies for meaningful employment and Indigenous‑owned or partnered businesses in the supply chain.

Value, schedule and procurement

The combined scopes are valued at more than CAD 100 million, with both contractors expected to continue activity on site into 2028. K+S said additional direct and indirect services will be solicited as the Ramp‑Up continues over the next 10–15 years and invited interested vendors to submit statements of qualifications to [email protected].
