Saipem and Jan De Nul sign LOI for Rovuma LNG offshore works with ExxonMobil
- Saipem–Jan De Nul consortium signed an LOI with ExxonMobil Moçambique on behalf of the Mozambique Rovuma Venture (Area 4 partners: ENH, CNPC, ENI, KOGAS and XRG).
- The LOI covers preliminary engineering, procurement and other technical services with an initial value of approximately €11 million.

Saipem, in consortium with Jan De Nul, has signed a Letter of Intent with ExxonMobil Moçambique Limitada acting for the Mozambique Rovuma Venture (Area 4 partners: ENH, CNPC, ENI, KOGAS and XRG) for work on the Rovuma LNG Phase 1 development.

The LOI covers limited preliminary engineering, procurement and other technical services to advance project definition and execution planning, with an initial value of about €11 million.
Project and technical scope
The work relates to development of upstream facilities that will deliver gas from Area 4 offshore resources to the onshore Rovuma LNG plant, routing reservoir production from 18 subsea wells through a network of subsea pipelines and manifolds.
Conditions and timing
The final award of the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract to the consortium is subject to a positive Final Investment Decision by the Area 4 partners and to government and regulatory approvals, which are expected in 2026.
Consortium capability
The Saipem–Jan De Nul consortium will apply its EPCI experience in subsea facilities, including export pipelines, umbilicals and infield flowlines in shallow and deepwater environments.
