Mozambique Rovuma Venture S.p.A. (MRV) is a joint venture of ExxonMobil, Eni, and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The company holds a 70% participating interest in Offshore Area 4 in the Rovuma Basin, Mozambique, on behalf of the Area 4 co‑venturers.
MRV’s role is to develop and monetize significant offshore natural gas resources through liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects. This includes support for the Coral South floating LNG development (operated by Eni) and the planned Rovuma LNG onshore project (to be operated by ExxonMobil), supplying LNG to global markets. The remaining Area 4 partners—Galp, KOGAS, and Mozambique’s national oil company ENH—each hold a 10% interest.
