- PPA expanded to 130 MW of renewable capacity and extended to 2038 (original PPA signed in 2021).
- Supply sources: Belgian Northwester 2 offshore and RWE's Dutch wind fleet (OranjeWind 795 MW, Kattenberg, Zuidwester, Westereems, Oostpolderdijk).
- OranjeWind construction starts in 2026 with full commissioning expected by early 2028; project co-owned by RWE and TotalEnergies.
- OranjeWind will integrate electrolysis, battery storage, smart charging and e-boilers to better match generation with demand.
PPA expansion and term
RWE expanded its Power Purchase Agreement with ASML (originally signed in 2021) to about 130 MW of renewable capacity and extended the contract to 2038; ASML will use the power at its Netherlands facilities.
Supply portfolio
The expanded PPA covers additional output from the Belgian Northwester 2 offshore wind farm and RWE’s Dutch wind fleet, including OranjeWind (795 MW) and the onshore Kattenberg, Zuidwester, Westereems and Oostpolderdijk wind farms; the deal was structured with support from Energie Makelaar BV.
OranjeWind project and system integration
OranjeWind, a 795 MW joint project of RWE and TotalEnergies about 53 km off IJmuiden, will start offshore construction in 2026 with full commissioning expected by early 2028 and plans to integrate electrolysis, battery storage, smart charging and e‑boilers to better match generation with demand and support grid stability.
