Production Launch
ORLEN Upstream Norway has commenced production at the Andvare field, adding to its portfolio of producing assets. The field is expected to deliver approximately 300 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Location and Infrastructure
Situated in the Norwegian Sea, about 300 km southwest of Bodø, Andvare is near the Norne field operated by Equinor. The development utilized existing infrastructure, minimizing both time and cost.
Cost Efficiency
The project required no additional installations, with costs limited to drilling a production well from an existing template. This approach is projected to recover investments within four months.
Operational Details
The Norne Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit, tied into 53 production wells, serves as the backbone of the facility. Oil is stored onboard, while gas is transported to the Kårstø terminal and then delivered to Poland via the Baltic Pipe.
Partnerships
Andvare is operated by Equinor Energy, holding 53% of the shares, with DNO Norge and ORLEN Upstream Norway holding 32% and 15% respectively. The Norne FPSO also supports production from other fields like Alve and Marulk, where ORLEN holds stakes.
