Contract Details
ORLEN has signed a contract with Naftogaz to supply 300 million cubic metres of natural gas from the US in the first quarter of 2026. This agreement was reached shortly after the Transatlantic Partnership for Energy and Climate (P-TEC) Summit in Athens, November 2025.
Supply and Logistics
Under the contract, ORLEN will source and deliver the gas using its LNG carrier fleet and reserved regasification capacity. The transaction is conducted on an arm’s length basis, positioning ORLEN as a significant player in the global LNG market.
Strategic Impact
This deal is part of Naftogaz's strategy to diversify gas supply sources and routes, aiming to strengthen Ukraine's energy resilience. In 2026, US LNG imports to Ukraine are expected to reach 1 billion cubic metres.
Ongoing Cooperation
Since the start of their commercial cooperation in 2025, ORLEN has already sold 600 million cubic metres of gas to Ukraine. The new contract further solidifies the partnership between ORLEN and Naftogaz, potentially paving the way for future agreements.
