Onyx Power secures option to connect to OGE Wilhelmshaven hydrogen pipeline

Agreement with OGE
Onyx Power has signed an agreement with Open Grid Europe (OGE) securing the opportunity to connect to the Wilhelmshaven Coastal Hydrogen Pipeline. The connection, once the pipeline is completed, would allow Onyx Power to feed hydrogen into the Germany-wide transport network.
Site strategy
The company is developing multiple projects aimed at entering the hydrogen economy. The existing power plant site is positioned advantageously due to its immediate proximity to the LNG terminal Wilhelmshaven, which the company cites as an asset for future hydrogen activities.
Network context
The Wilhelmshaven Coastal Line, together with the North Sea–Ruhr Link, is described as the central connecting line for transporting hydrogen from the north to consumption centers. Both pipelines are included in the Germany-wide hydrogen core network that was approved in October 2024.
