EnviNOx® Installation at Baytown
thyssenkrupp Uhde has implemented its EnviNOx® technology at Covestro's Baytown, Texas facility. This advanced emission control system is part of Covestro’s Nitric Acid Unit Climate Initiative (NAUCI), aiming to reduce approximately 154,000 metric tons of CO2e annually.
Emission Reduction Efficiency
The EnviNOx® system is capable of eliminating up to 99% of nitrous oxide (N2O) and other nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. It is designed for long-term operational efficiency and compliance with stringent environmental regulations.
Proven Technology
With over 20 years of operational success and more than 60 units installed globally, EnviNOx® has already eliminated over 260 million tons of CO2-equivalent emissions. The system is versatile, effective, and can be integrated into various chemical processes.
Commitment to Climate Goals
Covestro is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2035. The Baytown installation, along with other successful implementations like the one in Shanghai, underscores the company's dedication to sustainable industrial transformation.
