- WesCEF targets a 30% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
EnviNOx® Technology Implementation
thyssenkrupp Uhde has successfully installed its EnviNOx® technology at CSBP's NAAN3 nitric acid plant in Western Australia. This technology achieves a reduction of over 98% in nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions, a significant step in industrial emissions reduction.
Expansion to Additional Plants
Following the success at NAAN3, contracts have been signed to implement EnviNOx® technology at CSBP's NAAN1 and NAAN2 plants. This expansion will integrate all three nitric acid production facilities with the emission-reducing technology.
Emission Reduction Goals
The projects at NAAN1 and NAAN2 are expected to reduce more than 60,000 tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions annually. This aligns with WesCEF's target to reduce scope 1 and 2 emissions by 30% by 2030, based on a 2020 baseline.
Impact on Industry
The implementation of EnviNOx® technology supports the decarbonization of the agricultural and mining sectors by providing low-emissions products. This contributes to broader climate goals and enhances the sustainability of these industries.
