Leadership Changes
Linde has announced that Sanjiv Lamba, currently the CEO, will also assume the role of Chairman of the Board effective January 31, 2026. He will succeed Steve Angel, who is retiring after 25 years of service. Angel has held various leadership roles, including Chairman since 2022 and CEO from 2018 to 2022.
New COO Appointment
In line with these changes, Sean Durbin will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer starting October 1, 2025. Durbin has been with Linde for over 30 years, most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Linde North America since September 2023.
Board's Perspective
Bob Wood, Linde's Lead Independent Director, stated that the Board believes having Sanjiv Lamba serve as both CEO and Chairman is the most effective leadership model for the company at this time. The Board will continue to review these roles to ensure they align with the company's needs and stakeholder interests.
