Project Details

TotalEnergies will operate Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) 83, which includes the Mopane discoveries, while Galp will enter PEL 56 and PEL 91, home to the Venus discovery. The companies emphasized their confidence in Namibia's potential as a future oil and gas producer.

Future Plans

For the Venus project, partners aim to secure conditions for a final investment decision by 2026. At Mopane, an exploration and appraisal campaign involving three wells is scheduled to begin in 2026 to further understand the resources and advance the project.
