Exolum Joins CCSA to Enhance CO2 Reduction Solutions in Europe and UK

Key highlights
  • Exolum joins CCSA to enhance CO2 transport and storage solutions.
  • The initiative supports EU's 2025 net zero targets.
  • Exolum operates over 60 terminals in Europe and the UK.
  • Two carbon capture hubs are being developed in Spain.

Exolum Joins CCSA

Exolum has become a member of the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA), a leading European organization focused on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). This move aligns with Exolum's commitment to the energy transition and positions the company as a significant player in the CO2 value chain logistics.

Integrated Solutions for CO2 Transport

Exolum will leverage its extensive infrastructure network, which includes over 60 terminals across Europe and the UK, to offer integrated CO2 transport and storage solutions. These solutions will utilize a combination of pipeline infrastructure, rail, and maritime transport, tailored to the specific needs of each project.

Supporting EU's Net Zero Targets

The membership comes at a crucial time for the development of carbon capture technologies, which are essential for achieving the European Union's 2025 net zero targets. Exolum aims to facilitate decarbonization projects by developing optimized and secure transport networks that connect industrial emitters with end-use plants or geological storage sites.

Strategic Developments in Spain and the UK

Exolum is already advancing its strategy by developing two carbon capture logistics hubs in Spain, located in A Coruña and Huelva. These hubs are designed to meet the needs of multiple emitting companies. In the UK, Exolum operates over 20 facilities, primarily in key port locations, enabling direct interaction with major British industrial clusters for carbon export or storage.
