Contract and scope
KT – Kinetics Technology, a Maire Tecnimont subsidiary, was awarded an EPC contract by an ENI subsidiary in Angola under ENI’s cooperation agreement with Sonangol. The contract is worth approximately USD 200 million and covers engineering, procurement and construction of two refining process units—a Naphtha Hydrotreater (including naphtha splitting) and a Catalytic Reformer—plus associated utilities, offsites and the tie‑ins needed to integrate them with the existing refinery.
Production impact
The new units will increase gasoline production at the country’s sole refinery from 280 to 1,100 tons/day, improve product quality and reduce the refinery’s overall environmental footprint, contributing to the national goal of fuel supply independence.
Schedule
The units are scheduled to be started up and tested in approximately two years from the project start date.
