Eni Begins Gas Delivery from Angola's Quiluma Field

Key highlights
  • Initial gas export from Quiluma is 150 MMSCF/day, targeting 330 MMSCF/day in 2026.
  • Gas is treated at the NGC plant in Soyo, operational since November 2025.
  • NGC partners: Azule Energy 37.4%, CABGOC 31%, Sonangol E&P 19.8%, TotalEnergies 11.8%.

Gas Delivery Commences

Eni has announced the start of gas delivery from the Quiluma field, part of the New Gas Consortium (NGC) in Angola. The initial export rate is set at 150 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/day), with plans to increase to 330 MMSCF/day within 2026.

Processing and Distribution

The gas from Quiluma will be processed at the NGC gas treatment plant in Soyo, which was inaugurated in November 2025. After treatment, the gas will be supplied to the Angola LNG plant for both export and domestic consumption.

Consortium and Operations

NGC is composed of Azule Energy, which operates with a 37.4% stake, CABGOC with 31%, Sonangol E&P holding 19.8%, and TotalEnergies with 11.8%. Eni previously operated NGC before the establishment of Azule Energy, an Eni upstream satellite.

Strategic Objectives

NGC focuses on developing Angola's first non-associated gas fields, aiming to maximize LNG exports and enhance domestic gas utilization for local development.
