About Angola LNG

Angola LNG Limited operates the Angola LNG project, a large-scale liquefied natural gas plant and marine terminal in Soyo, Zaire Province, Angola. The venture is jointly owned by Sonangol, Chevron, and other international partners. Its single-train facility has a nameplate capacity of about 5.2 million tonnes per annum, processing primarily associated gas gathered from Angola’s offshore oil fields.

The plant produces LNG for export and also yields LPG and condensate, while supplying pipeline gas to the domestic market. By capturing and monetizing associated gas that would otherwise be flared, Angola LNG supports reduced emissions from oil production and provides energy feedstock for power generation and industry in Angola. Commercial operations began in 2013, and cargoes are marketed into the global LNG trade.
