Agreement Overview
On 16 September 2025, Eni and its Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) partners, Vitol and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), signed a Memorandum of Intent with the Government of Ghana. The agreement aims to boost the country's oil and gas production and introduce sustainable initiatives.
Investment and Production Plans
The agreement outlines a comprehensive investment plan to enhance energy access in Ghana. Key initiatives include potentially increasing the OCTP project's production capacity by leveraging synergies between offshore and onshore upgrades to meet growing domestic energy demand.
Exploration and Development
The collaboration will evaluate exploration activities and the development of the Eban-Akoma field in Cape Three Points Block 4. Following the declaration of commerciality in July 2025, this field is expected to become a significant supply source, utilizing existing infrastructure to optimize value and time to market.
Social Investment
Eni and its partners have invested over USD 10 million in social programs in Ghana, benefiting more than 10,000 people in education, clean water access, health, and local economic support. A second phase will expand these initiatives and services for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
