E3 Lithium and Axens Sign MOU for Lithium Carbonate Sale and Sorbent Supply

Key highlights
  • The MOU involves E3 supplying lithium carbonate from Alberta to Axens in Europe.
  • Axens will provide a lithium selective sorbent for E3's Direct Lithium Extraction.
  • The MOU sets milestones for E3 to produce battery-grade lithium and validate the sorbent.
  • Both companies are exploring funding options for future definitive agreements.

Overview

E3 Lithium and Axens have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) to facilitate the sale of lithium carbonate and the supply of a lithium selective sorbent. This collaboration aims to enhance secure supply chains for critical minerals.

Agreement Details

The MOU outlines plans for E3 Lithium to supply lithium carbonate from its Clearwater Project in Alberta, Canada, for Axens' use in Europe. In return, Axens will provide its proprietary lithium selective sorbent for E3's Direct Lithium Extraction processes.

Milestones

The MOU sets specific milestones, including E3 Lithium producing battery-grade lithium at its Demonstration Facility for Axens' qualification process. Additionally, E3 will validate the sorbent through standard testing for use in its DLE processes.

Future Plans

Both companies are committed to completing the qualification process swiftly and are exploring funding options to be defined in future definitive agreements. The intent is to execute two separate agreements, with neither being dependent on the other.
