As the only battery in the logistics industry supporting peak 8C charging, the Tectrans II superfast charging battery reaches 80% state of charge in 6 minutes 48 seconds and a full charge in 8 minutes 56 seconds, aiming to provide a refuelling-like charging experience for light-duty commercial vehicles.
Durability and cold-weather behaviour
Tectrans II carries an ultra-long warranty of up to 10 years or 1 million kilometers. The cell's internal resistance is reported at 50% of the industry average, reducing heat generation during fast charging; graphite particles modified via atomic-level interface engineering are said to reduce active lithium loss and delay degradation. Even at −20°C the battery reaches a full charge only 2 minutes 30 seconds longer than under normal conditions.
Charging infrastructure and deployment
CATL launched an integrated supercharging and battery-swapping station compatible with passenger and commercial vehicles, equipped with customized ultra-fast chargers and optimized cable lengths to suit light-duty vans and trucks. The company plans to deploy 4,000 such stations across nearly 190 Chinese cities this year to support wider use of the Tectrans II battery in urban distribution, intercity transport, cold chain and last-mile delivery.
