RIFT's Alpha One enters FEED
- Alpha One has entered the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase after approval by RIFT’s Supervisory Board and shareholders.
- RIFT and its engineering partner will refine technical specifications and prepare the engineering package required for a well-informed Final Investment Decision (FID).
- FEED will reduce technical and execution risks, improve cost certainty and prepare the project for delivery.
- The project aims to become RIFT’s first commercial Iron Fuel Production Plant and a blueprint for future facilities, with R&D insights incorporated during FEED.
FEED phase initiated
The Alpha One project has entered the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase following approval by RIFT’s Supervisory Board and shareholders. This moves the project another step closer to becoming RIFT’s first commercial Iron Fuel Production Plant.
Purpose of FEED
During FEED, RIFT and its engineering partner will further develop the production-plant design, refine technical specifications and prepare the engineering package needed to support a well-informed Final Investment Decision. The phase focuses on reducing technical and execution risks and improving cost certainty ahead of construction.
Background and next steps
The start of FEED reflects years of preparation with customers, industrial partners, investors and public stakeholders to advance Iron Fuel Technology from concept to a commercially deployable solution for industrial heat. Ongoing research and development will be incorporated into the engineering work as project preparation continues across multiple disciplines toward the FID.
