Investment and Upgrade

Air Liquide is set to invest approximately €25 million to upgrade its Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Yulin, Shaanxi Province, China. This project is part of a contract extension with a subsidiary of the Yangchang Group.

Emission Reduction

The existing steam-driven ASU will be converted to an electricity-driven system, reducing CO2 emissions by 224,000 tonnes annually. With low-carbon energy sourcing, total annual CO2 emissions reduction will reach 550,000 tons.

Increased Capacity

Post-upgrade, the ASU's oxygen production capacity will increase by 10%. The new electricity-powered unit is expected to be operational by the end of 2027.

Contract and Partnership

The contract was signed in Beijing during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron. Air Liquide has maintained a long-term partnership with the Yangchang Group since 2008, supplying gas to its subsidiary Kaiyue.
