Air Liquide and ArianeGroup renew industrial partnership with two Ariane 6 contracts
- Two contracts signed cover supply of critical cryogenic equipment and supply of gases for Ariane 6’s operational phase.
- Air Liquide will provide cryogenic equipment supporting manufacturing and propulsion up to the 42nd Ariane 6 flight.
- The gas supply deal is renewed for an initial three‑year term covering liquid hydrogen and oxygen, liquid/gaseous helium, liquid/gaseous nitrogen and compressed air.
- Air Liquide has supported the Ariane programme for over 50 years, contributing to 268 Ariane flights and designing fluid distribution for the ELA4 launch complex.
Deal scope
ArianeGroup and Air Liquide signed two contracts for the operational phase of Ariane 6: one for critical cryogenic equipment for rocket manufacturing and propulsion, and one to secure gases required for propulsion and ground operations.
Duration and supplies
Air Liquide’s Engineering & Technologies will supply cryogenic equipment through the 42nd Ariane 6 flight. Separately, Air Liquide Spatial Guyane renewed a gas supply agreement for an initial three‑year term to deliver liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen for propellant needs plus liquid and gaseous helium, liquid and gaseous nitrogen, and compressed air for ground operations.
Context and capability
Air Liquide brings longstanding space cryogenics and gases expertise, having supported successive Ariane launcher generations for more than 50 years, contributed to 268 Ariane flights, and designed the ELA4 launch pad fluid distribution systems.
Industrial impact
ArianeGroup, following Ariane 6’s initial flights, is increasing production rates; the contracts are positioned to support the launcher’s industrial ramp‑up and operational phase for institutional and commercial customers.
