Air Liquide and Hyundai Motor Group have expanded their strategic partnership to accelerate the global hydrogen economy. This collaboration aims to develop a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem, focusing on production, storage, transportation, and utilization across Europe, South Korea, and the United States.

Focus Areas

The partnership targets scaling up hydrogen use in heavy-duty transport, logistics, and public transportation. By leveraging Hyundai's mobility innovation and Air Liquide's technical expertise, the collaboration seeks to contribute to a sustainable energy landscape and achieve carbon neutrality.

Infrastructure and Supply Chain

Key initiatives include developing hydrogen refueling networks and storage capacity to meet growing demand. The partnership also focuses on establishing a hydrogen ecosystem covering low carbon and renewable production, transportation, distribution, and utilization across various sectors.

Achievements and Future Plans

In South Korea, the partnership has already delivered results, including the deployment of over 2,000 hydrogen buses and 37,000 passenger FCEVs, with plans to scale further by the end of 2026. The companies have also collaborated on advanced hydrogen refueling stations and strengthened hydrogen capabilities with the inauguration of a 450-bar Filling Center in Daesan.

As co-chairs of the Hydrogen Council, Air Liquide and Hyundai Motor Group aim to drive international cooperation, industry standardization, and policy advocacy to expand the global hydrogen ecosystem.
