Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. is the national oil company of Suriname, headquartered in Paramaribo. It focuses on hydrocarbon exploration, production, and related activities. Through subsidiary Paradise Oil Company N.V., Staatsolie holds a 20% interest in offshore Block 52, operated by PETRONAS, where multiple exploration successes including Caiman-1 and Swartzia Aspasia Complex-1 have been recorded, contributing to over one billion barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable resources across Surinamese blocks. The company maintains interests supporting development in the Suriname-Guyana basin, with the Sloanea gas field declared commercial in November 2025.
