Salzgitter AG (Salzgitter Group) is a major European steel and technology group headquartered in Salzgitter, Germany. The company produces flat and long steel, heavy plate and sections, and manufactures seamless and welded steel tubes and pipes under the Mannesmann brand. It also provides engineering, filling and packaging technology via its Technology segment and operates an international steel trading and distribution network.
Salzgitter supplies customers in automotive, mechanical engineering, energy, construction, and industrial equipment, including materials for pipelines, pressure vessels, and infrastructure relevant to the chemical and process industries. The group is progressing its SALCOS (Salzgitter Low CO2 Steelmaking) transformation, moving toward direct-reduced iron and electric arc furnace routes, increased scrap use, and greater reliance on renewable electricity and hydrogen to reduce CO2 intensity.
