Petronor (Petróleos del Norte, S.A.) is a Spanish refining company based in Muskiz (Biscay), operating the Bilbao/Muskiz refinery, one of Spain’s largest. The site processes crude oil into transportation fuels and other refined products, as well as petrochemical feedstocks, supplying northern Spain and neighboring markets via pipelines, storage facilities, and marine terminals linked to the Port of Bilbao.
Petronor is majority-owned by Repsol and forms part of its downstream industrial system. In addition to conventional refining and logistics, the company is involved in industrial decarbonization initiatives in the Basque Country, including projects in renewable hydrogen and synthetic fuels to reduce the carbon intensity of its operations and support local industry.
