Methanex Corporation is a Canada-based chemical company and the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol. Headquartered in Vancouver, it markets methanol for use in chemical manufacturing and energy applications.
The company operates or holds interests in production facilities in the United States (Geismar, Louisiana), Trinidad and Tobago, Chile, and New Zealand, supported by a global distribution and storage network. Methanex supplies methanol to customers in industries producing formaldehyde, acetic acid, MTBE, and other derivatives, and for emerging fuel applications.
Through its subsidiary Waterfront Shipping, Methanex manages a dedicated ocean-going fleet to deliver product worldwide, including methanol dual-fuel vessels. The company is active in initiatives to lower the carbon intensity of methanol supply and use, including expanding availability of lower-carbon methanol pathways.
