The company functions as the project company and future operator of the facility under a 49-year concession. It is structured as a joint venture with ownership divided among RNS Ceyhan Petrokimya Endüstriyel Yatirim A.Ş. (51%), CYN Petrokimya Endüstri ve Ticaret A.Ş. (15%), and Sonatrach Petroleum Investment Corporation BV (34%). RNS Ceyhan is a subsidiary of Rönesans Holding, while Sonatrach provides the propane feedstock from Algeria.

The plant will produce approximately 472,500 metric tons per year of polypropylene using Honeywell UOP Oleflex PDH technology and LyondellBasell Spheripol polymerization. Output is expected to cover roughly 17% of Turkey’s domestic PP demand, reducing imports and generating an estimated annual $300 million positive contribution to the trade balance. Polypropylene will be sold primarily in Turkey and Europe for applications in automotive, textiles, packaging and other industries.

Construction of the $2 billion project (including associated terminal facilities developed with Stolt-Nielsen) began in phases from 2022 onward, with major equipment deliveries continuing into 2026. Commercial operations are targeted for late 2027. Financing includes $1.3 billion from international sources such as the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Spain’s CESCE export credit agency.

As one of Turkey’s largest private-sector petrochemical investments, the company strengthens national self-sufficiency in petrochemicals while operating within the Ceyhan Energy Specialized Industrial Zone.

Also known as Ceyhan Polypropylene Production SPV.
