Business Finland

About Business Finland

Business Finland is Finland’s public organization for innovation funding and trade, investment, and travel promotion. Operating under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, it consists of a government agency and a state-owned company, formed in 2018 through the merger of Tekes (the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation) and Finpro. Business Finland provides R&D and innovation grants, loans, and programs, supports internationalization of Finnish companies, attracts foreign direct investment, and operates Visit Finland. It maintains a domestic and international office network.

For the chemical and process industries, Business Finland funds research, development, and piloting projects in areas such as bioeconomy, circular economy, advanced materials, batteries, clean hydrogen, and industrial decarbonization. It supports demonstration plants and ecosystem collaborations between companies, universities, and research institutes, and runs thematic programs that connect Finnish capabilities with global markets and investors. The organization also facilitates partnerships and investment cases for sustainable chemistry and related manufacturing in Finland.
