About Acelen Renewables

Acelen Energia Renovável S.A., known as Acelen Renewables, is a Brazilian renewable fuels company established in 2023. It operates as a subsidiary sponsored by Mubadala Capital, the asset management arm of the Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Investment Company. The company's headquarters are in São Paulo, Brazil.

Its primary activities center on the development and operation of a new greenfield biorefinery in Bahia, Brazil, adjacent to the Mataripe Refinery. The facility will employ Honeywell UOP Ecofining process technology to produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from feedstocks including waste fats, oils, greases, and vegetable oils. The project, with financing secured in 2026, targets international markets and is designed to leverage shared infrastructure for efficiency.

Acelen Renewables forms part of the broader Acelen group, which owns and operates the Mataripe Refinery supplying northeastern Brazil.
