Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company is a major Egyptian producer of nitrogen-based fertilizers and related chemical products. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Abu Qir near Alexandria, the company operates three production facilities with a combined annual capacity exceeding 1.8 million tonnes. Its primary products include ammonia, prilled urea, granular urea, ammonium nitrate, and liquid urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) fertilizers, all manufactured to international standards.
The company holds a leading position in Egypt's fertilizer industry, responsible for roughly half of the nation's nitrogen fertilizer production. It supplies the domestic market while exporting to dozens of countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It has also participated as a shareholder in the Abu Tartour Phosphoric Acid Plant Project in Egypt's New Valley Governorate, contributing to the expansion of the country's phosphate fertilizer capabilities.
