Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) is Qatar’s primary petrochemical and refining cluster on the east coast, ~40 km south of Doha. Established 1949 (oil terminal); industrial city developed from the 1970s under state industrial policy. Governed as a government industrial zone with Manateq as infrastructure authority and QatarEnergy as anchor, feedstock supplier and utility provider. Home to Qatar’s refinery, NGL/sulfur handling, ethylene/PET feeds and downstream polymers, chlor-alkali, ammonia/urea and methanol/MTBE production. Deep-sea export port on site.
