Production Curtailment
Due to record high natural gas prices in Europe, Yara is temporarily reducing production at its Ferrara (Italy) and Le Havre (France) plants. These facilities have a combined annual capacity of 1 million tonnes of ammonia and 0.9 million tonnes of urea. As a result of this curtailment, along with optimization and maintenance at other production sites, Yara's European ammonia and urea production is expected to operate at approximately 45% of capacity by the end of the week.
Operational Adjustments
Yara will continue to monitor the situation closely. The company plans to leverage its global production system to ensure that customer supply and food supply chain continuity are maintained as much as possible. However, production will be curtailed where necessary due to the challenging market conditions.
