Project scope

Worley has been selected to deliver engineering services for D-CRBN's renewable syngas demonstration plant in Antwerp, Belgium. The assignment includes the plant design and the safety and cost studies needed to support construction.

Technology

The plant will apply D-CRBN's plasma technology, which uses electricity to convert carbon dioxide and biomethane into renewable syngas. That syngas can be used to produce lower‑carbon fuels, plastics and other chemicals.

Capacity and scalability

The modular demonstration unit is designed to produce 200 tonnes of renewable syngas per year and to provide operational data and an engineering foundation for a future commercial plant with an approximate annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes.

Partnership background

Worley's engineering scope extends an existing partnership with D-CRBN; it previously supported concept development for the syngas purification stream, reactor scale‑up assessment and industrial planning and will apply its gas separation and multidisciplinary engineering experience to scale the proprietary plasma process into an integrated, safe demonstration unit.
