Agreement Overview
Versalis and Veritas have signed an agreement to enhance the circular economy by focusing on recycling post-consumer and post-industrial plastics. The collaboration aims to develop joint initiatives to valorize these materials.
Recycling Focus
The partnership will initially concentrate on recycling expanded polystyrene (EPS) waste, such as boxes from the fishing sector. This waste will be processed at Versalis's new plant in Porto Marghera.
Production Capacity
The Porto Marghera facility, operational since March 2025, can produce up to 20,000 tonnes per year of crystal polystyrene (r-GPPS) and expandable polystyrene (r-EPS) from secondary raw materials.
Local Industrial Supply Chain
The agreement aims to establish a local integrated industrial supply chain for high-quality recycled plastics, supported by new investments. This initiative is part of Versalis's broader transformation and relaunch plan.
