Project overview

Vattenfall inaugurated the Bruzaholm onshore wind farm in Eksjö municipality; construction began summer 2023 and the park comprises 21 Siemens Gamesa turbines (6.6 MW each, 240 m tip height), total 139 MW capacity and an expected 460 GWh annual output across about 13 km².

Power offtake and industrial use

Approximately 50% of production is allocated to AB Volvo under a long-term PPA to secure electricity for Swedish industrial operations, including a planned battery factory in Mariestad.

Storage and grid flexibility

The site includes a Fluence battery system of 60 modules with 38 MW power and 38 MWh storage capacity to stabilise the grid and enable more flexible use of generation.

Local impacts and environmental measures

Eksjö municipality will receive government wind-power support (approx. SEK 2.8 million for 2026) and Vattenfall provides annual community subsidies (~SEK 270,000); biodiversity measures include preserving dead wood, protecting orchids and accounting for capercaillie, bats and pollinators.
