After completion, partner line-ups are: PEL83 — TotalEnergies 40% (operator), Galp 40%, Namcor 10%, Custos 10%; PEL56 — TotalEnergies 35.25% (operator), QatarEnergy 35.25%, Galp 10%, Namcor 10%, Impact 9.5%; PEL91 — TotalEnergies 33.09% (operator), QatarEnergy 33.03%, Namcor 15%, Impact 9.5%, Galp 9.39%.

Development and appraisal timeline

TotalEnergies says its operator entry makes it the operator of Namibia's two largest oil discoveries and strengthens its position in the Orange Basin. The company plans to start appraisal of the Mopane discovery in the second half of 2026 via a three-well campaign and is targeting a final investment decision (FID) in 2028.
