Transaction
TotalEnergies signed agreements with PETRONAS Carigali, PTTEP and KUFPEC to acquire a 30% operated interest in the Lang Lebah and B14 gas fields off Sarawak. Completion of the transactions is subject to regulatory approvals.
Reserves and production
Lang Lebah, described as one of Malaysia's largest offshore gas discoveries, and the nearby B14 field are planned to be developed as an integrated project expected to unlock more than 6.5 trillion cubic feet of gas (equivalent to more than 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent) and to supply the existing Malaysia LNG liquefaction plant at a production plateau of around 10 billion cubic meters per annum.
Partnership and stakes
Upon completion TotalEnergies will hold a 30% operated interest in both fields, alongside PTTEP (25%), KUFPEC (25%) and PETRONAS Carigali (20%).
Strategic context
TotalEnergies said the agreements further strengthen its integrated gas position in Malaysia, following its 2024 acquisition of SapuraOMV and an expansion of its partnership with PETRONAS in 2025.
