- Rompetrol Rafinare has invested over 40 million USD in storage capacity since 2007.
- The program includes rehabilitation of nearly 60 tanks at Petromidia and Vega refineries.
- A 20% increase in total storage capacity is expected by program's end.
- Rehabilitation includes tanks for diesel components, gasoline, and vacuum distillate.
Rehabilitation and Modernization Efforts
Rompetrol Rafinare has completed a significant phase in its tank farm rehabilitation and modernization program at the Petromidia refinery. This phase involved the rehabilitation of four tanks for petroleum product storage, with two additional strategic tanks currently undergoing modernization.
Storage Capacity Enhancements
One of the rehabilitated tanks, with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, is designated for storing a diesel fuel production component. It received major repairs, including foundation work, anti-corrosive coating renewal, and upgrades to cooling and fire extinguishing systems. Additionally, three gasoline storage tanks, with capacities between 3,000 and 10,000 cubic meters, underwent essential repairs.
Ongoing Projects
The program continues with the reconstruction of a vacuum distillate tank, which will have a 20% increased capacity. Early-stage rehabilitation is also underway for one of the eight crude oil tanks, with a capacity of 56,000 cubic meters.
