Tengizchevroil Boosts Local Procurement in Kazakhstan

Local Procurement Achievements

Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) has achieved a 71% local content score in procurement, primarily through increased purchases from domestic suppliers. This milestone was announced by Konilkosh Suyessinov, Deputy General Director of TCO, during the KAZENERGY Energy Week.

Investment and Economic Impact

Since 1993, TCO has invested over $51.4 billion in Kazakhstani goods and services, stimulating economic activity across various regions. In the first half of this year, TCO increased its Kazakhstani content spend on goods by 9%.

Supplier Development and Qualification

TCO has completed the qualification of 16 Kazakhstani manufacturers, adding them to its Approved Manufacturers List. This initiative supports the professional growth of local suppliers by addressing gaps between their capabilities and TCO’s requirements.

Collaborations and Contracts

TCO collaborates with the International Machine-Building Center (IMBC) to develop local manufacturers in 12 product categories. As a result, TCO signed long-term contracts for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and protective materials last year, with several associated agreements in progress.

Infrastructure Projects

TCO's partners, PSI Energy and QMOZ, have completed the first substation fabrication, marking a significant achievement in local manufacturing. These modular substations, the largest constructed in Kazakhstan, were built with over 800,000 workhours without any Lost Time Incidents.
