Project Overview

Technip Energies has secured a detailed engineering contract for the Arthit Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project in the Gulf of Thailand. This initiative, led by PTTEP, marks Thailand's first CCS project and aims to serve as a pilot for CCS technology adoption in the region.

Project Goals and Infrastructure

The Arthit CCS project is designed to capture up to 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. It will utilize existing infrastructure at the Arthit field, with additional facilities constructed as needed to support the project's objectives. This effort aligns with Thailand's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Action Plan on Mitigation for 2021–2030, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Technip Energies' Role

Technip Energies' responsibilities include detailed engineering for new CCS processing units and CO2 injection facilities, along with brownfield modifications to the existing Arthit Central Processing Platform. The company has previously completed the Pre-FEED and FEED phases of the project between 2022 and 2023, demonstrating its ongoing involvement and expertise in the field.
